Christmas Chocolate Truffles

Hello beautiful people, I hope you’re all doing well 🙂 Happy New Blog Post Day – or as non-ninjas call it, Friday.

I wanted to share a Christmas treat recipe today that is easy, simple and something you can make in the kitchen with kids while watching a Christmas movie over the weekend. Something that involves very little cooking and a little crafting.

When we were kids, we used to make traditional rum truffles in the kitchen with mum using heavy cream, chocolate and rum or rum essence. This is a healthier, dairy-free nod to the classic that is so fun to make and even more fun to eat. Simple, easy and a great kid-friendly recipe, both to prepare and to devour!

Here’s how to make them.

200g chocolate (I used dark)

1/2 cup coconut cream (or top solidified part in a can of coconut milk)

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Raw cacao

Start by chopping up chocolate, add the chunks to a microwave safe bowl together with coconut oil and melt. I like giving it 1 minute at a time to make sure it doesn’t burn. You can also use the double boiler method to melt.

Once melted, add coconut cream and mix well. Then transfer to the fridge for around 2 hours to thicken.

When the mixture is cool and thick, portion out into 12 balls and roll into cacao or sprinkles for a more festive look. And that’s it 😊

That’s it from me for today – I’ll be back with a new blog post Every Single week
