Açaí at home – easy recipe!

Hey there beautiful people, I hope you’re all doing really well!

I bet you’ve at least heard of açaí; if not, it’s a type of berry that is very nutrient dense. It’s used in powder of purée form, blended with frozen fruit to create a smoothie consistency and then often topped with delicious toppings.

There’s a lot of hype around açaí and it’s quite expensive to purchase. Making it at home is not only cost effective, it also allows for different fruit combos and toppings so you can experiment and find your fave! It also takes literally 10 mins to make max.

BENEFITS:

Açaí berries are LOADED with antioxidants – three times as much as blueberries and more than any other berry!

They are nutrient dense containing very low sugars, moderate amounts of good fats and a spectrum of trace minerals.

Açaí berries may help reduce cholesterol levels and are preventative against many cancers.

Açaí may also be beneficial for brain health and help reduce inflammation within the body.

HOW TO MAKE IT:

Making açaí couldn’t be easier. It’s essentially a smoothie bowl so all you need is a handful of ingredients and a blender.

Ingredients:

1-2 tablespoons Good Earth açaí powder

1 banana (fresh or frozen)

1.5 cups frozen berries of choice

1 cup Alpro almond milk

Add everything to your blender and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if needed or more frozen fruit if you prefer a thicker consistency.

Then add to a bowl and top with anything you fancy – I like topping mine with granola for some crunch and fresh fruit. Nut butters also work really well here so feel free to add some of that too!

I like using Jordan’s low sugar granola; most cereals contain a massive amount of sugar per serving (even the seemingly healthy ones).

That’s it from me for today – I’ll be back with a new blog post Every Single week 🙂
