MEAL PREP – Snacks; Savory edition

Hello there beautiful people, I hope you’re all doing well!

I’ve been sharing many of my favourite ways to meal prep for the week, but I thought not many people would be interested now that many of us are spending more time at home than ever. However, after speaking with many busy parents, most of whom are also working from home and many people who are busy simply working from home or still going to work and others who simply prefer batch cooking, I thought this was the perfect time to share this!

This time, I’m going to be sharing all my fave savory snack recipes that you can easily make large quantities of and store in the fridge for about a week. My fave savory snacks are dips of some sort.

You can enjoy then with crackers, on toast, with veggie sticks, in wraps, over salads – the possibilities are endless!

Here’s a run down of some of my all time faves….

Hummus

I’m a big fan of hummus; it’s fresh, creamy, bursting with flavour and makes a great addition to salads or Buddha bowls. Here’s the recipe: https://holisticnutritionninja.com/2019/01/15/healthy-hummus-in-a-hurry/

Tzaziki

Tzaziki is a fresh yoghurt based dip – it’s a wonderful addition to veggie wraps and can be enjoyed with veggie sticks or crackrs. Here’s the recipe: https://holisticnutritionninja.com/2019/01/10/tasty-tzatziki/

Baba Ganoush

This roasted aubergine dip is really special – I love making this! It does take a minute to char or roast the veg but it’s really quick to put together and is a really lovely simple dip that tastes great with warm pita bread of inside of veggie wraps. Bean and Artichoke Dip

This bean and artichoke dip is really quick to make but makes a really tasty addition to your snacking repertoire – give this a try with a side of crackers or warm pita – YUM! Here’s the recipe: https://holisticnutritionninja.com/2019/12/17/bean-and-artichoke-dip/

Roasted Veg Hummus

This is hummus 2.0 – It’s packed with even more flavour and even more nutrients that make it a winner in my book – did I mention it’s absolutely delicious? I love this one – can you tell? Here’s the recipe: https://holisticnutritionninja.com/2020/03/12/roasted-veggie-hummus/

You could also opt for a low carb SEED CRACKER to go with any of these delish dips – these are LOADED with flavour, healthy fats, protein, vitamins and minerals and really quite easy to make.

What’s your go-to snack? DM me on Insta, on FB or in the comments below! I’m always looking for new ideas and recipes to try out. I also find it really interesting the way people cook and eat really differently from one country or district to another and even from one household to another. I think that’s part of the reason why I love creating recipes – you can take ingredients everyone’s tried before but combine them in a way all your own.
